In relation to recent news on investigations involving Sapura Energy Berhad and Seadrill for alleged bribery involvement relating to PETROBRAS contracts, Sapura Energy Berhad and its group of companies strongly refute any involvement in any form of bribery or corruption in its business dealings in Brazil and anywhere else in the world.

Sapura Energy Berhad today announced that its President and Group CEO Tan Sri Shahril Shamsuddin is planning to retire after leading the Group for 25 years. Tan Sri Shahril will be stepping down from his post upon reaching the retirement age of 60 on 22 March 2021.  Sapura Energy’s Board of Directors has appointed Datuk Mohd Anuar Taib as Chief Operating Officer and CEO Designate effective 1 October 2020, as part of a six-month transition. 

Sapura Energy Berhad is pleased to announce the appointment of Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Shamsul Azhar Abbas as its Director and Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman. He succeeds Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr.) Hamid Bugo, who will be retiring after being in the company for more than 8 years.

Sapura Energy Berhad is pleased to announce that its associate company, SapuraOMV Upstream Sdn Bhd together with Joint Venture partners Mitsui Exploration and Production Australia Pty Ltd and OMV New Zealand Limited have made a discovery with a positive result in the Toutouwai-1 exploration well in the Taranaki Basin, in New Zealand. The prospect is located 50 kilometres off the Taranaki coast in 130 metres of water.

Sapura Energy Berhad began financial year 2021 with a positive rebound, posting a profit-after-tax and minority interests of RM14.2 million for the first quarter ended 30 April 2020 (Q1 FY2021).
